Laser Hair Removal - Your New Bestie

Seriously! It's easy, affordable and not painful... we promise! There will be no screaming or howling in our studio, thank you very much. This is coming from someone who DOES howl at the tinniest ouchy, so this is doable ladies (and gents).

I have had "everything" lasered and love how fast it was and how cooling the head of the laser was. Dermalase by NuBody is our beloved IPL Laser, here at the studio, so I knew I had the best of the best #healthcanadaapproved. Based on my experiences here and on what I have learned to date, I thought it would be a great idea to dis-spell some Laser hair removal myths. There has been a lot of info in the media lately and a lot of #falsenews. I really want to focus on education so that if you have been thinking about getting laser and have been scared off, or you are just curious, you will feel more comfortable after reading our blog. For our first "deep dive" lets talk about what the procedure is. We will have to get a bit "techy" - but it's cool info and worth knowing. First of all what is an IPL Laser? Intense Pulse Light. Yup, that's what it is. #IPL #dermalase. IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light and uses a source of broad-spectrum, visible light. This light is controlled to remove shorter wavelengths and targets the melanin pigment in the hairs. The light energy is absorbed, transferring as heat energy which warms the hair, causing damage to the follicle. Then, you guessed it, no more hair. Simple. Okay so science aside, who can qualify for Laser? With a few exceptions, almost anyone really. Compatibility for Laser hair removal does have some contraindications, however, not many. A consultation is definitely required though just to ensure the treatment will work well for you based on your skin type. We will cover skin types more in depth later however, rest assured if you are able to get the treatments then you will love the feeling of not having to reach for a razor in the shower anymore or having your hair ripped out by waxing #ouch #hurtslessthanwaxing. What is super important to know today is that IPL treatments are safe, effective and affordable. We wanted to ensure that everyone could benefit from this treatment not just the peeps with tons of cash. Trust us when we say, we know the prices are steep out there and we have made sure ours are not. We care about you finishing the course of treatment, not paying a high price for a couple and then giving up, so we are fair (and dare we say, great at what we do? hee hee). Anyway, friends, stay tuned for our next blog, "what's your skin type". Stay well.
